Vertu Ti (RM-828V) Leaked With Google Android, Modest Features

The Vertu Ti (RM-828V) with its first ever Google Android operating system was leaked on Wednesday by the team at Blog of Mobile. As expected, the luxury device features standard smartphone options with a familiar design that Vertu buyers have come to expect.

The leaked device would appear to be the real deal as the Ti, and RM-828V specs have been leaked all over the Bluetooth SIG, GLBenchmark, and telecom regulator databases, both in Macau and Singapore.

The Vertu Ti features Google Android 4.0.4, which powers a smaller 800 x 480 display with the help of a Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8260A SoC in the WCDMA 850/900/1700/1900/2100 radio range.

The smartphone is also expected to include Bluetooth 4.0 and NFC capabilities.

Powering the device is a 1,250mAh battery, which will likely leave something to be desired for many buyers hoping for a long-lasting power feature.

According to Bluetooth SIG’s description page for the Vertu Ti:

“VERTU Ti possesses the classic Vertu design DNA and characteristics – strong, unique & distinctive. The design and craftsmanship positions VERTU Ti alongside other iconic products in the luxury market.”

Vertu has long stuck to the same look on its devices, although the alleged leaked photo does feature three new physical keys for “Back,” “Home,” and “Recent apps” functions. Those keys would have been added as a requirement for the Google Android OS.

Vertu will likely debut the actual Ti smartphone at the Mobile World Congress in February.

Would you like to get your hands on the Vertu Ti, or does the luxury handset maker need to find a new design to match its ridiculous pricing?
