Beyonce: NFL Players Talk Favorite Songs, Singer Sizzles In Super Bowl Promo

With Beyoncé’s halftime show at the Super Bowl XLVII touching down in just four days, it’s safe to say anticipation is nearing fever pitch levels.

Now, ahead of the event, various big name NFL players recently sat down to talk about their favorite Beyonce songs in a video posted on NFL’s website.

Running the full gamut of Beyonce’s four solo albums and her musical past as lead singer in Destiny’s Child, the players may not have remembered all the words but they knew what they liked.

First up was the Dallas Cowboy’s Jason Witten, who raved,”Every time Beyonce sings, I think it’s pretty amazing.”

Eric Berry of Kansas City Chiefs enthused,”You know she makes good music, she’s beautiful. Jay-Z, no offence to that.”

Duane Brown, Houston Texans’ offensive tackler, said, “She’s a heck of a singer and one of the best of our generation.”

Arizona Cardinals’ Duane Washington rated Dreamgirls anthem “Listen,” while Washington Redskins’ Lorenzo Alexander praised “Freakum Dress.”

However, Patrick Willis, San Francisco 49ers’ linebacker, got confused and sang the lyrics of Alicia Keys “If I Ain’t Got You.”

Meanwhile, Super Bowl organizers have released a racy promo of Beyonce dressed in a bespoke NFL referee outfit.

In the shot, the face-paint adorned 31-year-old wears thigh-high boots, black hot pants, and a black and white striped jersey while holding a football.

Despite the best efforts of the New York Post and the Daily Star to fuel negative snark, recently posted photos from Beyonce’s Tumblr show the Houston native prepping for the show of her life.

The “Crazy in Love” singer will reunite with former Destiny’s Child members Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams during her Super Bowl set, for a medley that will likely include “Bills, Bills, Bills,” “Survivor,” and new song “Nuclear.”

According to Vanity Fair, Brian McCarthy, the league’s vice president of communications recently stepped up to deny reports of “diva-like demands,” saying:

“Beyonce and her team have been great to work with throughout this process … we have enjoyed her creativity, vision and spirit in putting on a great show that is truly a Super Bowl performance.”

Earlier this week, it was also revealed that the superstar will not be paid for her halftime show, with an NFL spokesman stating: “We pay the production costs for the halftime show, there is no fee for the artists.”

Super Bowl XLVII gets its Beyonce on at the Mercedes-Benz superdome in New Orleans this Sunday. Will you be tuning in?
