Amy Poehler Working On ‘Non-Linear’ Book

Exciting news for Amy Poehler fans! The Parks and Recreation star is coming out with her own book. Making sure she has all of her fingers in different pots, the former Saturday Night Live sketch comedian is in an agreement with It Books for an “illustrated, non-linear diary” including stories that may or may not be fiction.

This isn’t the first SNL alum to put out a book. Tina Fey and Rachel Dratch have both penned memoirs. Even Minday Kaling, the defunct SNL writer, which she hilariously documents, has a book. It was only a matter of time before Poehler took up the challenge.

According to the Huffington Post, Poehler’s quasi-bio book will promise “jokes, candor and life lessons” by the comedian. That said, it’s sure to be a hit. Fey’s “Bossypants” which was similar in its structure, ended up being a best-seller.

Amy Poehler is said to publish her book for sometime in 2014. Right now Poehler, who also hosted the Golden Globes with Tina Fey, is busy more than ever.

Now it looks like that Parks and Recreations is good to go for another season. It was originally believed that this would be the last time we would see Poehler as Leslie Knope. However, according the sources it is certain to be renewed.

Are you looking forward to Amy Poehler’s turn as an author? Do you think this will be yet another role she aces at? If not, then maybe she can head to the theater and reprise her role for Mean Girls, which is said to hit Broadway.
