Jennifer Lawrence Rips Dress On Way To Collect SAG Award, Does It Adorably [Video]

Jennifer Lawrence cemented her lovable klutz image as she collected the prize for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role at the Screen Actors Guild Awards 2013 in Los Angeles last night.

Winning the prize for her turn as Tiffany in David O’Russell’s dysfunctional love story Silver Lining Playbook, the 22-year-old suffered a wardrobe malfunction as she walked up to collect her award.

When her name was read out, the actress didn’t notice someone had rested the leg of their chair on her navy Christian Dior column dress.

Desperate to free herself Lawrence tugged at the gown and just about ripped her skirt part of the dress away from its sheer underlining.

Struggling through the star-filled Shrine Exposition Center, Lawrence hitched up her dress to make it up stage steps, inadvertently exposing her thighs.

Quick as a flash, the Winter’s Bone star pushed the ripped section of dress under the gap in her dress and kept on walking towards the stage, said theDaily Mail.

Other actresses in the room, Nicole Kidman, Sally Fields, and Marion Cotillard among them, gasped visibly as they watched Lawrence’s hazardous journey to the stage.

A popular winner, Lawrence —- who is also suffering from pneumonia and had to miss the Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts Awards on Saturday — thanked her director, co-stars, her family and “rascal” producer Harvey Weinstein, Deadline reports.

The actress also revealed she had received her SAG card after starring in an MTV promotional advert for My Super Sweet 16 at the age of 14.

With the 85th Academy Awards looming, she’s also nominated for Best Actress in a leading role, Jennifer Lawrence’s bid just got one step closer.
