Davydenko Stuns Federer In Semifinal Of World Tour Finals

London, England (AHN) – Nikolay Davydenko reached his second straight final of the ATP World Tour Finals with an impressive 6-2, 4-6, 7-5 victory over Roger Federer at London’s O2 Arena Saturday.
Davydenko showed heart in a number of ways, playing well less than a day after defeating Robin Soderling and still managing to defeat the world’s top player.
He also came in losing his previous 12 matches to R-Fed, and dropped the first six points Saturday, as well.
Davydenko started to take advantage of some unusually poor play by Federer, including a pair of double faults and several forced errors, to take over the match.
Davydenko simply had too much for Federer in the decisive third set, ripping a forehand winner and watching a Federer return stay on the same side of the net for the win.
