Taylor Swift Sings ‘We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together’ To Harry Styles At NRJ Awards [Video]
Taylor Swift’s scorned woman reputation reached new dramatic heights last night.
The 23-year-old performed “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” at the NRJ Music Awards in Cannes, France, while her ex-boyfriend Harry Styles could only listen and watch.
The country singer delivered an accomplished rendition of the song, after changing out of her red carpet shimmering mini-dress before hitting the stage in a figure-hugging black lace top and shorts, complete with knee high boots.
Swift appeared undaunted about singing her break-up anthem in front of 18-year-old Brit pop star Styles, who was at the awards with One Direction bandmates — Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, and Louis Tomlinson,
According to Metro, Swift belted out her chart-topping hit knowing Styles was watching her, but neither pop star acknowledged each other at their first post-split public event.
After the show Styles tweeted, “Thank you so much to @NRJhitmusiconly and our fans for the Award!! See you later. xx.”
Swift and Styles were together for 65 days and broke up while on a Caribbean holiday in the British Virgin Islands after a reported blazing row, ITN News notes.
The shock early January split came just days after the pair were seen kissing at midnight on New Year’s Eve in Times Square, as well as enjoying each other’s company on holiday in Utah and Harry’s UK hometown of Holmes Chapel.
At Saturday’s Cannes event One Direction won the prize for Best International Duo/Group, while Swift came away with nothing.
Except the chance to tell Styles exactly what she thinks of him, of course.
