The bad blood between NBC and Ann Curry continues, as the suits reportedly won’t allow her to conduct live interviews on the network. According to the New York Post, this is apparently an effort to further marginalize the former Today Show co-host.
Curry holds the title of NBC News national and international correspondent/anchor and is subject to a long-term contract with the network. She supposedly has developed good relationships with A-list celebrities that translates or could translate to significant on-air interviews.
“But although she’s been filing reports for NBC News programs including Rock Center with Brian Williams, sources said she’s been barred from doing live interviews.
“One source said, ‘There’s growing friction because she’s been pushing for live interviews, but NBC will only air her taped interviews, presumably so they can edit them.’ ”
” … It seems NBC brass were not amused when Curry refused Matt Lauer’s attempts at small talk in her first live return to Today following her public beheading last August, when he said, ‘Nice to see you,’ and she practically grimaced.”
As The Inquisitr has previously reported, Curry apparently would like to jump to CNN which is now run by her former boss Jeff Zucker, but NBC is playing hardball. NBC wants Curry to remain off the air for six months before joining another media outlet in exchange for letting her out of her contract. But Curry, who has all but secured a job with CNN, doesn’t want to wait that long.

NBC knows they screwed up with getting rid of her……we all know they screwed up getting rid of her……it is tough playing hardball with an intelligent woman……if NBC doesn't want her then let her out of the contract!

WHAT THE HELL? WHY IS NBC PERSECUTING ANN CURRY? I LOVE ANN CURRY, AND THE WAY SHE WAS TREATED IS INESCUSABLE! SHE WAS THE BRIGHT, INTELLIGENT SPOT ON THIS SHOW, AND, SINCE NBC AND MATT LAUER DID TO HER WHAT THEY DID, I HAVE REFUSED TO HAVE THE TODAY SHOW EVER ON IN MY HOUSE. AND, MAY I TELL YOU, THAT I AM 64 YEARS OLD, AND UNTIL THIS INCIDENT I WOULD NEVER HAVE EVER WATCHED ANYTHING ELSE – EVER! THE TODAY SHOW IS TABOO, AND I LOVE, LOVE GMA! I love Ann Curry! I love her voice, her sincerity and her interview style. I was heartbroken for her and the Today viewers when she left. I hope to see her soon on CNN. IF NBC is not going to utilize her skills then they should let her go do she can nice on to bigger and better things!

I have stopped watching the Today Show because of this…..it was best with Kati, Matt, and Ann now it looks like a beauty pagent instead of a news/entertainment show; and there is not much brain power being used!

I as well stopped watching the Today show. I love Ann Curry and Matt is slim ball. But I wish her well and hope to see her soon. Until I do I watch the GMA now they act as a family glad Robin is back

Ann Curry has the class and expertise in interviewing that Lauer does not. It's clear that NBC that NBC is giving her the same treatment they gave Ashleigh Banfield. It's no wonder their ratings are in the toilet.

After letting Ann Curry go I will never watch the Today show again. I hope the whole show gets the lowest ratings. I think Matt Laur treated her terrible even the last day. I remember when his other cohost left they ran through the streets and made a big celebration. Matt treated her terrible and I cried for her. Get rid of Matt and put her back or the show will definetly keep going downhill.

Matt Lauer is a snooze. Ann Curry added a bit of mystery and class to the show, a unique aspect. Now it's just boring.
