Lindsey Vonn may be keeping quiet now on her reported romance with Tiger Woods, but when asked back in December the skiier had a more definitive stance on her relationship to Tiger.
The European media actually started reporting on rumors of a relationship between Lindsey Vonn and Tiger Woods late last year, back when Vonn was more open to talk about the relationship.
“We are just friends,” she told the Denver Post after winning her second World Cup downhill. “My brother was the ski instructor for his kids this November in Vail. Guessing that’s where it came from.”
It’s unclear if that assertion still stands, Us Weekly noted. Vonn has been seen teaching Tiger’s young children (5-year-old Sam and 2-year-old Charlie) to ski, and rumors say the two have been dating since November.
More recent statements have also been less clear about Lindsey Vonn and Tiger Woods.
“Lindsey is currently in the midst of the World Cup season in Europe,” Vonn’s rep told Us Weekly in a statement. “Her focus is solely on competing and on defending her titles and thus she will not participate in any speculation surrounding her personal life at this time.”
USA Today pointed out that the statement doesn’t really say anything one way or the other about the relationship between Lindsey Vonn and Tiger Woods.
Tiger Woods isn’t the only famous athlete Lindsey Vonn has been linked to. She was also seen spending time with New York Jets quarterback Tim Tebow, though a Vonn rep told the New York Post’s Page Six that they’re just friends.
