Watch Ashton Kutcher As Steve Jobs In Exclusive ‘jOBS’ Scene [Video]

Hey, want to see an exclusive scene from jOBS, that movie that stars Ashton Kutcher as the late Apple big-wig Steve Jobs?

I remember being incredibly skeptical about Kutcher playing Steve Jobs when it was announced (heck, I think most people were). Not because I dislike Ashton Kutcher, but because his casting as Steve Jobs really didn’t help us figure out what kind of movie jOBS was going to be. Was it going to be The Social Network but for Apple instead of Facebook? Maybe a lighter take on the founding of Apple with some comedy elements?

Well, according to the synopsis from distributors Open Road Films and Five Star Feature Films, jOBS will be:

“Directed by Joshua Michael Stern, written by Matthew Whitely, shot by Oscar-winning cinematographer Russell Carpenter and produced by Mark Hulme, jOBS details the major moments and defining characters that influenced Steve Jobs on a daily basis from 1971 through 2000. jOBS plunges into the depths of his character, creating an intense dialogue-driven story that is as much a sweeping epic as it is an immensely personal portrait of Steve Jobs’ life. The filmmakers were granted unprecedented access during shooting to the historic garage in Palo Alto, that served as the birthplace to Apple Inc.”

So, more the drama variety then.

Sony Pictures is also creating a Steve Jobs biopic based on Walter Isaacson’s biography of him. This film, tentatively titled Steve Jobs, hasn’t gotten much farther than pre-production yet.

Kutcher’s jOBS will premiere this week at the Sundance Film Festival and arrive in theaters on April 19, 2013. Check out the exclusive scene via Entertainment Tonight below:
