Kelly Clarkson Dined On Stuffed Mushrooms Prior To Inaugural Performance

Kelly Clarkson’s secret to a stellar live performance: stuffed mushrooms.

Prior to performing at the inauguration on Monday, the first American Idol champion and her crew stopped by Buca Di Beppo for dinner. According to Reality TV Magazine, Clarkson downed some tasty stuffed mushrooms and a few other dishes at the chain restaurant.

The feast reportedly took place the night before her presidential performance. In addition to the stuffed mushrooms, Kelly Clarkson and her friends tackled a few other items on the restaurant’s menu. Included on their $230 bill were bruschetta, lasagna, stuffed mushrooms, half-pound meatballs, spaghetti, and chicken parmigiana. The whole thing was topped off with Buca Di Beppo’s brownies.

TMZ reports that Clarkson and her entourage were kind enough to snap some photographs with the restaurant’s staff before wrapping things up.

All joking aside, the singer’s rendition of “My Country Tis of Thee” was considered by many to be one of the strongest performances at the event. A US Marine Corp Band representative told the celebrity gossip website that Clarkson belted out her song without the assistance of a backing track.

According to the Daily Mail, the singer and her fiance Brandon Blackstock decided to get dressed up for the Inaugural Ball at the White House later that evening.

The singer reportedly shared a handful of photographs with her fans, including one that showed Clarkson attempting to wrangle her dress into a car.

She captioned the picture:

“My dress barely fit in the car for tonight’s festivities. I feel like Cinderella! Thank you Oscar De La Renta!”

Kelly Clarkson also shared a photo of her standing backstage with Beyonce, who has received quite a bit of backlash for allegedly lip-synching her scheduled performance.
