Anesthetic Spray Seen As Cure For Premature Ejaculation

San Diego, CA (AHN) – An anesthetic drug sprayed on the penis before sex can prolong erection and is seen as a cure for premature ejaculation, according to researchers.

In a clinical trial of the compound called PSD502 in 256 men in the U.S., Canada and Poland, researchers found it delayed ejaculation by an average of 108 seconds.

The findings were presented at a medical meeting in San Diego on Thursday.

Developer Shionogi & Co. of Osaka, Japan said the PSD502 can treat a sexual dysfunction affecting a third of American men.

The International Society for Sexual Medicine defines premature ejaculation as the inability to delay orgasm for one minute after vaginal penetration.
