Michelle Obama Hair: First Lady Gets Banging New ‘Do


Michelle Obama and her hair will both be appearing at President Barack Obama’s inauguration on Sunday, so what better time for the first lady to try a new hairdo?

Mrs. Obama, who turned 49 on Tuesday, modified her look as her husband prepares to begin his second term at the White House.

It wasn’t only Michelle Obama’s bonce that got an update. The first lady also took on a new Twitter handle and promptly used her @FLOTUS Twitter account (FLOTUS being an acronym for “First Lady of the United States”) to show off her new ‘do.

An image of Mrs. Obama chatting with a co-chair of her MLK Day of Service committee was attached to her second tweet. It shows the first lady in a Zac Posen dress, with full-on, forehead-covering bangs.

Revealed Thursday, the new @FLOTUS Twitter account is run by the first lady’s office. Much like her husband’s account where missives penned by the president are signed “-bo”, tweets written by the FLOTUS herself are tagged with “-mo”. The Obama campaign also runs a separate Twitter account, @MichelleObama.

Michelle Obama’s hair makeover got a promising reception on Twitter, though talk show host Ellen DeGeneres was unable to resist a hair-related dig about the push-up contest between herself and Obama that took place on DeGeneres’ show in February 2012:
