Beyonce: ‘Life Is But A Dream’ Documentary Full Trailer Arrives [Video]

The teaser for Beyonce’s eagerly anticipated self-directed documentary has already come and gone. Now the full trailer has arrived.

The behind-the-curtains glimpse shows the 31-year-old being put through her paces in a dance rehearsal, facing down a a paparazzi gauntlet, working with her team before a show, a shot of the singer’s baby bump — pre-Blue Ivy’s birth — while a confessional voice over from Bey muses on life, fame, fear, and how to keep up with her own formidable career.

At one point she says:

“I always battle with how much do I reveal about myself. How do I stay current? How do I stay soulful? I felt like I had been so commercially successful, it wasn’t enough. It’s something really stressful about having to keep up with that.”

Later adding:

“So I set my goal, and my goal was independence.”

Finally at the end of the 1:30 clip, the Houston native concludes:

“Power’s not given to you, you have to take it. You’re playing a hard game, a much bigger show — and that’s what life is.”

The release is called Life Is But A Dream, and it possibly was a dream to film as the singer can’t have been short of footage to choose from. In the latest issue of GQ magazine, the “hottest chick in the game” revealed she keeps a digital diary of her life in an official Beyonce archive.

If you’re thinking the “Single Ladies” songstress is everywhere at the moment, you’d be right.

Recent revelations that the singer will perform a medley with Destiny’s Child alums Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams during her halftime Super Bowl set, were bumped by yesterday’s unveiling of the R&B trio’s new single “Nuclear.”

Produced by Pharrell Williams, the gentle but addictive mid-tempo is the only fresh song on Destiny Child’s forthcoming compilation album Love Songs, which drops on January 29.

The busy mother also told GQ that she is prepping a new solo album with Justin Timberlake, Timbaland, Dream, and Pharrell. NME confidently reports that Beyonce will also debut a cut from the still-in-the-works record at the Super Bowl on February 3.

Keeping up? That makes one of us. HBO will air the Life Is But A Dream documentary on Saturday, February 16 at 9/8c.
