Betty White Beats The Flu

Betty White can’t be stopped. The 90-year-old actress has beaten the flu in recent days.

The star of TV Land’s hit show Hot in Cleveland and NBC’s Off Their Rockers has had a major career resurgence in the last few years and was seemingly untouchable. Now she has befallen the same fate as millions of other Americans who have become afflicted with the flu virus this season.

The flu is no joke though, and luckily Betty White is okay. One of her reps tells People Magazine:

“Betty has the flu and is on the mend.”

No further details are available, but it sounds like she will be back to work in no time. Season two of her NBC reality show premiered this last week, and season four of Hot in Cleveland is airing right now.

Less than one week from her 91st birthday, Betty White is the picture perfect image of health in the nation. When asked about secret to great health, she jokes:

“Hot dogs and Red Vines and potato chips and French fries are my favorite foods.”

She didn’t stop there though:

“I have a two-story house and a very bad memory. I’m up and down those stairs all the time.”

It looks like she will keep going up and down those stairs for years to come.

The flu season has been hard this year for millions of Americans. Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, tells CNN:

“We are into what would classically be described as a flu epidemic.”

CNN also reports that 20 people under 18 have died since the beginning of the outbreak along with dozens of adults. Numbers for adult deaths are not recorded however.

To keep you laughing, here is a clip of Betty White dancing with PSY for Off Their Rockers:
