Justin Timberlake: ‘I’m Ready’ To Make New Music [Video]

Justin Timberlake will finally be releasing new music this year, much to the delight of fans who have waited almost seven years for a new album from the former *Nsync frontman.

Timberlake’s last album was 2006’s FutureSex/LoveSounds and, since then, he moved from music to acting. But now he is finally ready to return to the career that made him one of the most commercially successful artists in the world.

On Thursday, the six-time Grammy and four-time Emmy award winner posted a video on his website that starts off with a black screen and a voiceover: “Someone asked me the other day, ‘So are you … So are you just done with music?’ It means more to me than anybody else in the world.” He then says he has only made two albums in 10 years, and looks at it as what does the next decade mean for him. He also says he doesn’t want to put anything out that he doesn’t love.

The video then ends with him walking into a study and putting on headphones.

“I’m ready,” he says.

After the video ends, there is a countdown. According to the New York Times, the countdown will lead to the release of a new song featuring Beyoncé and Jay-Z. While Mrs. Carter has already announced that Destiny’s Child will be releasing a new song and album, she also confirmed that she worked with Timberlake on her as-of-yet untitled fifth album.
