Nintendo and The Pokemon Company announced the arrival of a pair of new games earlier this week. Now details about Pokemon X and Pokemon Y are beginning to emerge.
Although it’s been around for several long years, the franchise appears to be as strong as ever. Judging from the amount of press the games have received and the reaction to the announcement on social media, people are genuinely excited about the forthcoming games.
According to Game Rant, fans of the long-running series will have to wait 10 months before getting their hands on Pokemon X and Pokemon Y. However, details about the game’s new features have slowly started to bubble to the surface.
One of the most notable changes to the franchise is the new 3D engine. For the first time in series history, Pokemon players will be able to journey through a fully three-dimension world. Since the games are being released for the Nintendo 3DS, chances are they will take advantage of the portable system’s 3D technology.
Pokemon fanatics were also curious about the new creatures that appear in the trailer for the game. After the announcement was made, may prospective players were forced to refer to the characters by the letter they resemble: X and Y.
Gaming Examiner reports that Nintendo has now revealed what gamers shoudl call these new monsters. The official names given to these characters are “Xerneas” and “Yveltal.”
The Pokemon Company CEO Tsunekazu Ishihara explained:
“The worldwide launch of ‘Pokemon X’ and ‘Pokemon Y’ this October allows players to begin their adventures at the same time. Now, ‘Pokemon’ fans across the globe can discover the secrets of ‘Pokemon’ games and can collect, battle, and trade with each other immediately.”
