Microblogging service Plurk is running an election competition where users can win a share of $5000.

Plurk the Vote offers a central election focused page for Plurk users. The Election timeline aggregates all messages from across Plurk that contain related keywords like “Obama” or “Mccain”. Plurks highlights plurks about Obama/Biden in blue, and McCain/Palin in red.

Users get their own Mock Election page at www.plurk.com/vote/username, which they can share with friends, and encourage them to vote. The user with the biggest Mock elections on Plurk wins a share of $5,000. Plurk will also be giving away 30 $25 Amazon.com gift certificates over the course of the next 30 days to one voter each day who has voted in a mock election.
