Kate Middleton Turns 31 Privately Without Pomp, But Her Rumored Present Is Fabulous

Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge turned 31 today. There won’t be any bunting hung or dancing in the streets however, most likely due to Kate being at least 12 weeks into her first pregnancy.

Today, St James’s Palace confirmed that the Duchess would be marking it “privately,” and is believed to be spending the day with her husband Prince William at their home in Anglesey, North Wales.

The Telegraph reports that the couple are expected to enjoy a birthday meal together, but observes that soft, mould-ripened cheeses, pate, partially cooked or raw eggs or fish won’t be on the menu — due to Kate’s mother-to be status.

It’s been a dramatic few months for the young royal.

As previously reported by The Inquisitr, topless pictures of Kate taken during a private holiday surfaced in September last year while she and William were on a nine-day tour of south-east Asia.

Then, in December, the Duchess was hospitalized in the first few weeks of her pregnancy suffering from acute morning sickness.

A hoax telephone call followed which led to tragically unforseen consequences when the nurse who picked up the call committed suicide, which led to widespread coverage around the world.

Small wonder, then, that Kate just wants a quiet day with her Prince on her special day. And according to recent reports, there is one other thing she can look forward to, besides a new summer arrival.

According to the Scotsman, Yahoo, The Telegraph, the Queen is said to be preparing to gift the couple with a property from her expansive portfolio: Anmer Hall, in Norfolk, where William used to spend some of his vacations as a child.

The Telegraph quotes a source as saying: “The house has been earmarked for William and Kate.”

That should make up for dinner in front of the television.
