‘Fifty Shades Of Grey’ Film Scribe Promises Less ‘Twilight,’ More Mommy Porn

In case you feared that the film adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey would be Twilight-esque, fear not! The film’s scribe promises that the mommy porn tale will be preserved in all its BDSM glory for the silver screen.

British screenwriter Kelly Marcel told the Sunday Times that the film version of E.L. James’ S&M trilogy will be a visual guilty pleasure on par with the source material’s raunchiness. “This isn’t going to be Twilight. It’s going to be raunchy… We are 100% going there,” Marcel said.

The books concentrate on the abusive sexual relationship between college student Anastasia Steele and her creepy billionaire boyfriend, Christian Grey. Yahoo reports that the novels have been translated into 45 languages worldwide, and have sold more than 32 million copies in e-book and print in the US.

The film rights were bought for $5 million in March 2011 by Universal and Focus after a contentious bidding war. Fifty Shades of Grey the film will get an NC-17 rating, and will be produced in part by the author herself.

Marcel called Fifty Shades of Grey a”modern love story involving two complex characters” and said that she feels “very deeply” for Christian.

Additionally, the script is being heavily protected by the studio. “There are shredders arriving at my house at this moment because in LA my trash was gone through,” Marcel admitted.

Casting rumors have permeated the internet since the announcement of the Fifty Shades of Grey film adaptation, but Marcel insists that the studio hasn’t started thinking about the film’s actors just yet: They’re waiting for the script to be finished first.
