Poll: Most People Seeking Swine Flu Vaccine Can’t Find It

Boston, MA (AHN) – Most adults who tried to get vaccinated against the H1N1 flu, or get their children vaccinated, have been so far unsuccessful, according to a recent poll from the Harvard School of Public Health.

The poll, conducted between Oct. 30 and Nov. 1, suggests that since the vaccine became available in October, 17 percent of American adults, 41 percent of parents and 21 percent of high-priority adults have tried to get it.

The pollsters said in a statement that 30 percent of the adults who tried to get the vaccine for themselves got it and 70 percent were unable to get treated. Among parents, 70 percent were not able to get the vaccine. And 66 percent of high-priority adults were unable to get vaccinated.

The poll also suggested that some people were not able to find the location of available H1N1 vaccines.

The poll was taken from a sample of 1,073 adults ages 18 years o`ld and older.
