For those who have forgotten, Lopez rocked up at the 2000 Grammy Awards on the arm of then-boyfriend Sean “Puff Daddy” Combs wearing a diaphanous, physics-defying Versace gown (viewable in full below).
The green print dress, which miraculously didn’t result in a wardrobe malfunction, was held together below Lopez’s navel by a sparkly brooch, and prompted all sorts of chatter during and after the event. Indeed, readers of one newspaper voted it one of the five most iconic dresses of all time, and there aren’t many dresses that have their own Wikipedia page.
Thirteen years on, Lopez still hasn’t parted with the famous frock, with the singer and actress revealing to Harper’s Bazaar that it remains hung in her house:
“I have that at home. The other day, my housekeeper put it on a mannequin in my spa, where I get my hair and makeup done. She sent me a pictures. She was like, ‘You like this dress?’ Um, yeah, but I don’t know if I like it out in the house!”
In the interview, Lopez also describes how her fashion tastes have evolved in recent years:
“[I've gone from a] boyish, hip-hoppy sensibility: big hoops, sneakers, tank tops, and my big curly hair [to] channeling movie stars, Jackie O. And now all of these things mixed together, that’s my style.”
