Hillary Clinton ‘The Movie’ Is Coming: But Who Should Play Her, And Bill For That Matter?

Hillary Clinton, the movie, is coming to a theater near you. As yet there’s no production start date or even a cast, but it is coming.

The working title is Rodham, and the script written by Young Il Kim was named the fourth-hottest unproduced script in the latest annual “Black List” poll of Hollywood executives.

It’s not to see why.

Even without the dramatic events of recent weeks, a plot that traces Hillary’s Yale Law School early years, a stint as the youngest attorney in the House Judiciary Committee, courtship and marriage to Bill Clinton, their ascent to the apex of Washington politics — and beyond, sounds like perfect Oscar material.

CBS News reports that screenwriter Young Il Kim — a 39-year-old newcomer from Korea — told Politico he was inspired by a photograph of Clinton “when she was in her 20s with Coke-bottle glasses and long, hippie hair.”

Kim continued:

“‘[It’s] a journey of a woman who was torn between her personal desires and her professional ambition — both literally pulled her thousands of miles apart, because Bill did not want to leave Arkansas and she did not want to leave Washington, D.C.”

According to The Washington Post, no names have been attached to the project as yet, but that doesn’t mean we can’t speculate about who could play the power couple? Bearing in mind it’s a “young Hillary and Bill” we’re casting, here’s a few ideas:

Lindsay Lohan is a no. Simple as that.

Zeitgeist names, Kristen Stewart, Jennifer Lawrence, and Amy Adams could be too glamorous. But what about Dakota Fanning, Drew Barrymore, Emma Stone, Ellen Page, or possibly Emily Blunt?

The Washington Post suggested Scarlett Johansson, but that could be pushing it.

Moving on to Bill then.

Brad Pitt? Too old perhaps. Chris Hemsworth? He’s got the build, but does he have that aura of politick? Jeremy Renner, he’s got the steel, but is he a little too humorless? What about Tom Hardy’s maverick appeal?

Or maybe they’re all long shots. Who do you think would make a good Bill and Hillary? Share your ideas below.
