New Joe Biden Petition Aims To Get VP His Own Reality Show

In an era of what Chris Christie just deemed “toxic” partisan politics, it seems the left and the right can always at least come together and agree on one thing — America’s drunk uncle, Vice President Joe Biden, gets far too little screen time, robbing the US of some much-needed levity.

But the We The People website (an initiative by the Obama administration to crowdsource ideas) has come to the rescue, demanding what I think we can all caucus on a single issue — the continuing problem of Joe Biden lacking a reality show of his very own.

If you think about it, it makes hella sense. Biden is accidentally hilarious all the time, and we need something to fill the hole left by Jersey Shore. If there was ever a time for Joe Biden to get a reality show, it’s now.

Feeling it? The petition at We The People is titled “authorize the production of a recurring television program featuring Vice President Joe Biden,” and while it requires 25,000 signatures, only 200 and change have thus far put their names to the screed.

The Joe Biden reality show petition reads:

“Vice President Joe Biden has a demonstrated ability to bring people together, whether at the negotiating table or at the neighborhood diner. We, therefore, urge the Obama Administration to authorize the production of a recurring C-SPAN television program featuring the daily activities and interactions of the Vice President with elected officials, foreign dignitaries and everyday American families.”

It continues:

“Such a program would educate the American public about the duties and responsibilities of their Vice President, while providing a glimpse of the lighthearted side of politics even in the midst of contentious and divisive national debates.”

The petition to grant Joe Biden a reality show expires on February 3.
