‘Three Men And A Baby’ Sequel: Tom Selleck Says He’d Do It [Video]
Although it’s been several years since Three Men and a Baby and its sequel arrived in theaters, apparently there’s word that another follow-up is in the works.
According to Cinema Blend, the proposed feature is in the early stages of development over at Disney. While the project may never get off the ground, it would appear that co-star Tom Selleck is down for another go-around if the story is right.
During his appearance on The Talk, Selleck discussed the possibility of doing another sequel. Unless he’s pulling everyone’s leg, it would appear the actor wouldn’t be at all opposed to the idea.
The actor explained:
“I heard it was, so yes. I’ve talked to Ted and I talked to Steve Guttenberg, and we’d love to get back together if they’ve got a good idea. I think that’s a good idea. It seemed to be real and then disappear, so I don’t know.”
Previous reports about a possible Three Men and a Baby sequel involved the little girl as she rapidly approaches her late 20s. The story would likely involve her getting married.
Entertainment Weekly explains that, while Tom Selleck seems to think the project has disappeared, apparently things are still on the move. A Disney spokesperson has confirmed that the third entry in the series is still in the very early stages of development. In short, there’s still a chance it could happen.
Last year, rumors started swirling that comedian Adam Sandler was planning to remake Three Men and a Baby featuring his buddies David Spade, Chris Rock, and Rob Schneider. Before the virtual ink could dry on the articles that sprang up around the reports, Disney quickly shut down rumors.
Directed by Leonard Nimoy — yes, THAT Leonard Nimoy — the film followed the adventures of three bachelors as they attempted to raise a little girl left on their doorstep.
