Amar’e Stoudemire Baby: Knicks Star Expecting Fourth Child With Wife Alexis

Congratulations are again in order for Amar’e Stoudemire and his wife Alexis.

The Knicks star, who proposed to Alexis in June and then married her in a private rooftop ceremony on the balcony of their New York City apartment in December, is now expecting a baby with his lovely bride.

The couple, who already have three children together — Ar’e, 7, Amar’e Jr., 6, and Assata — told People magazine they are very excited about the arrival of baby number four.

“We’re blessed that we were able to extend our family,” Amar’e, 30, explained to People. “We’re both huge on having a nice size family. It was something we’ve been talking about for a while. It happened naturally and at the right time so it all worked out.”

“It was just perfect timing,” gushed Alexis, 29, who says she’s had some morning sickness but overall, “can’t complain!”

Alexis also revealed her family can hardly wait to find out baby number four’s gender.

“They’re very, very excited,” says Alexis. “They just keep guessing if it’s a boy or a girl.”

In addition to their baby plans, the Stoudemires are also reportedly planning for an extravagant wedding ceremony this summer. Though they were officially married on December 12, 2012, the intimate wedding was only attended by 12 guests in order to signify the special date.

Amar’e told People he and Alexis would invite friends, family and his Knicks teammates to the second wedding bash.

“Hopefully we’ll bring home a championship and we’ll celebrate with a wedding after that!” the NBA superstar said.
