Lawyer Gifts Strangers With Furnished Home

Generosity is not something you see often these days, but a lawyer in Los Angeles is probably about to put yours to shame. If you need a furnished home for a year, he’ll give it to you.

Tony Tolbert,51, proves you don’t have to be a millionaire to make a big difference in one family’s life. Last week, Tolbert lent his house to a formerly homeless family for a year as he moved back in with his parents. states Yahoo News.

Tolbert’s story was made public on CBS This Morning. The Harvard-educated attorney explained that he was inspired by his father’s generosity. As a boy, Tolbert’s father often let strangers with no place to go stay in their house, according to Yahoo News. Years later, Tolbert decided to take it to a new level.

Now that’s what I call a Merry Christmas and a happy New Year.

Marie Tolbert, his mother stated:

“He is so giving, and he’s always been that way.”

Tony adds:

“You don’t have to be Bill Gates or Warren Buffet or Oprah. We can do it wherever we are, with whatever we have, and for me, I have a home that I can make available.”

Tolbert searched for a shelter for homeless women and children called Alexandria House. It was there he met Felicia Dukes, who responded:

“They had a young man that wanted to donate their house to you for a year. And I’m looking at her, like, what? Like — Are you serious? My heart just fills up and stuff, um….I’m just really happy.”

Tolbert also became emotional when he talked about his father and the life lessons he’d been taught. His father is now suffering from Alzheimer’s Disease:

“Kindness creates kindness. Generosity creates generosity. Love creates love. And I think if we can share some of that and have more stories about people doing nice things for other people, and fewer stories about people doing horrible things to other people, that’s a better world.”

Tony, you are a saint among men.
