Madonna Face Plants While Skiing In Switzerland

Pop diva Madonna suffered a nasty spill when she face planted while skiing in Europe during the winter holidays.

According to the NY Daily News, the 54-year-old entertainer welcomed the New Year in with 25-year-old boyfriend Brahim Zaibat and kids Lourdes and Mercy in the exclusive resort town of Gstaad, Switzerland.

While her two children seemed to have no problem holding their own on the snowy slopes, Madonna reportedly took several spills on the mostly flat trail as her boy-toy looked on.

In one particularly awkward moment caught on camera by paparazzi, the “Vogue” singer stumbled and landed face down in the powdery snow with her legs splaid and a clearly exhausted look on her face.

Madonna’s skiing mishap wasn’t her only face-first fall of the year. In October, during the Dallas stop of her MDNA tour, Madonna slipped and toppled head first on stage. In that incident, however, instinct kicked in, and she turned the fall into a recreation of her famous “Like A Virgin” moment from the VMAs. She kicked up her leg and rolled onto her back while continuing to sing.

Despite the plethora of falls, Madonna’s much-deserved winter vacation comes on the heels of a busy 2012 that saw an impressive Super Bowl performance (which she later called “the greatest show on earth”), a new album that debuted at No. 1, several lawsuits, a “Gangnam Style” performance with PSY in New York, and a successful MDNA world tour, which wrapped up on December 22 in Argentina.
