Although it doesn’t really give away much at all, another image from director Guillermo del Toro’s upcoming science fiction flick Pacific Rim has appeared online.

The image, which first appeared at online thanks to Emile Eid, features stars Idris Elba and Rinko Kikuchi standing face to face in what appears to be some sort of command center. Beyond seeing both Elba and Kikuchi in profile, the image doesn’t give fans too much to chew on.

Not too long ago, Warner Bros. unleashed the first teaser trailer for the movie onto the internet. Although it was short, the clip was certainly sweet. Not only did moviegoers get a chance to see a few monsters, the trailer also put a handful of giant robots on display. The combination is certainly hard to top.

The film’s lengthy synopsis reads as follows:

“When legions of monstrous creatures, known as Kaiju, started rising from the sea, a war began that would take millions of lives and consume humanity’s resources for years on end. To combat the giant Kaiju, a special type of weapon was devised: massive robots, called Jaegers, which are controlled simultaneously by two pilots whose minds are locked in a neural bridge.

“But even the Jaegers are proving nearly defenseless in the face of the relentless Kaiju. On the verge of defeat, the forces defending mankind have no choice but to turn to two unlikely heroes—a washed up former pilot and an untested trainee who are teamed to drive a legendary but seemingly obsolete Jaeger from the past. Together, they stand as mankind’s last hope against the mounting apocalypse.”

You can find the new image from the movie below.

Pacific Rim, which also features Ron Perlman, Charlie Hunnam, Clifton Collins Jr., and Charlie Day, is one of several big-budget Hollywood flicks that will hit theaters next summer. The film’s release date is tentatively set for July 12, 2013.
