Quentin Tarantino Wants To Work With Johnny Depp

Quentin Tarantino has been discussing his next project since releasing the Civil War era western Django Unchained into theaters on Christmas Day.

While discussing who he would love to work with in the coming years, the acclaimed director told Charlie Rose that he’d love nothing more than to team up with the likes of Johnny Depp. According to The Playlist, the filmmaker is looking to expand his stable of reliable actors.

Quentin Tarantino explained:

“We would love to work together. We’ve talked about it for years. Not that we get together and talk about it for years, but from time to time. We’re obviously fans of each other. It just needs to be the right character. I just need to write the right character that I think Johnny would be the right guy to do it with. And if he agrees, then we’ll do it. And then it’ll be magical. I haven’t written the perfect character for Johnny Depp as of yet. Maybe someday I will, maybe someday I won’t. We’ll see.”

According to the folks at Screen Rant, Tarantino said he would also love to work with Meryl Streep and Michael Caine. For the moment, the director seems to have his sights set on Johnny Depp.

Quentin Tarantino’s next project hasn’t been pinned down at the time of this writing. Although the filmmaker previously stated that he intended to center his next feature around gangsters from the 1930s, The Inquisitr previously reported that Tarantino is also considering a spin-off to his World War II effort Inglourious Basterds entitled Killer Crow.

The filmmaker said in a recent interview:

“My original idea for ‘Inglourious Basterds’ was that this [would be] a huge story that included the [smaller] story that you saw in the film, but also followed a bunch of black troops. They had been f**ked over by the American military and kind of go [crazy].”

Would you like to see Quentin Tarantino and Johnny Depp team up at some point down the road?
