WWE ‘SmackDown Live’ Spoilers: Huge Championship Change To Happen On Tuesday’s Episode?

Some shocking WWE SmackDown Live spoilers hit the internet on Tuesday, sending social media into a frenzy. During the latest edition of the blue brand’s episode in the United Kingdom, fans got to see at least one championship change hands just under two weeks ahead of the big Survivor Series 2017 pay-per-view. It was a result that some fans may not have seen coming, but could seriously alter what takes place when the PPV arrives in a few Sundays. Keep in mind that spoilers for Tuesday night’s episode of SmackDown Live follow.

On Tuesday afternoon, early SmackDown Live results were leaked from the NoDQ website for the show being taped in the United Kingdom. The actual episode will be televised at 8 p.m. Eastern Time on the USA Network. While there were a variety of winners and losers on the card, one victory, in particular, stole the show in a “phenomenal” way. “The Phenomenal” AJ Styles was able to defeat “The Modern Day Maharaja” Jinder Mahal for the WWE Championship in the main event match sending fans that were there live and in person into a wild celebration. The title change made history as the first time the championship changed hands outside of North America.

A fan video posted on Twitter shows the match finish. Towards the close of the match, Mahal managed to hit his Cobra Clutch finisher on Styles. While the champ had AJ pinned, Styles managed to get a foot on the ropes. Once he was back on his feet, AJ hit the Phenomenal Forearm for the big pinfall win. It marked the second time that Styles has captured the title and brings a huge potential shift to the Survivor Series card.

Originally, Jinder Mahal had called out “The Beast” Brock Lesnar for a “Champion vs. Champion” match at the pay-per-view. It seemed that Paul Heyman and Lesnar had accepted that match ahead of the event which takes place a bit later this month. However, with AJ Styles having won the WWE Championship it could mean another dream match is on the way. Styles vs. Lesnar would make for an epic showdown with bragging rights between Raw and SmackDown on the line during the bout.

Styles previously fought Finn Balor as a replacement for Bray Wyatt at the most recent Raw pay-per-view, TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs. The two former Bullet Club leaders put on the match of the night and even finished it off with a double “Too Sweet” Bullet Club hand signal in the ring for the fans to eat up. Now Styles looks like he’ll be following that match up with a second-straight PPV dream match against Brock Lesnar.

Of course, there is a bit under two weeks before the pay-per-view happens. That gives Jinder Mahal adequate time to demand a rematch. Will he regain the title ahead of Survivor Series, or will Styles carry the WWE Championship into the PPV?
