Rapper Meek Mill Headed To Prison: Nicki Minaj’s Ex Sentenced To 2-4 Years For Violating Probation

Meek Mill will not be putting out new music anytime soon, as a Philadelphia judge sentenced Mill to two to four years in state prison for probation violation. The judge was not messing around, as they threw the book at Nicki Minaj’s ex earlier today.

This probation violation stems back from a 2008 arrest for a drug and gun case, in which Meek served eight months in prison. Common Pleas Judge Genece Brinkley was not having any of it today, as this case has been open for almost 10 years now.

When it came to sentencing Meek Mill, the judge cited a failed drug test and a failure to comply with a court order restricting his travel. Because of that, Judge Brinkley sentenced Mill to up to four years in state prison, which seems harsh for this violation.

It came off as harsh (and a surprise) since prosecutors were not seeking any time in jail for Mill. They recommended that there would be no imprisonment for the probation violations. They said that Meek has been off drugs since January and he has complied with most requirements of probation.

Most requirements were not good enough for Brinkley, who said she has been trying to help Mill for the past 10 years. She said he continues to do what he wants, so because of that, he will be heading off to prison.

It is not a done deal though, as Mill’s attorney will be appealing the decision.

As far as the probation violations go, Meek Mill was previously arrested in a St. Louis airport. There was an altercation that involved two employees back in March 2017. More recently, Mill was busted for reckless endangerment while driving his motorcycle in New York City on an August night. However, both cases were dropped once Mill fulfilled his community service requirements.

Meek was also placed on house arrest back in 2015 for a probation violation. This happened after he left Pennsylvania without getting the proper approval to leave the state. All of that added up to an angry judge, who happened to be over the fact that she kept giving Mill a chance and he kept screwing it up.

Now he will spend two to four years in prison, but is the sentence too harsh?
