Man Consumes Entire ‘Hobbit’ Menu At Denny’s In 20 Minutes [Video]

A man, referred to as a “professional eater,” has managed to consume the entire “Hobbit Menu” offered by Denny’s, in just under 20 minutes. Jamie McDonald’s Hobbit meal included 11 plates of food totaling 8610 calories and 9.75 pounds of food.

The video, posted byMashable.com chronicles McDonald’s journey through the mountains of food. On the menu were Hobbit inspired dishes such as “The Ring Burger” and “Bilbo’s Berry Smoothie.”

Denny’s partnered with Warner Brothers Pictures in November in anticipation the the December release of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. The family diner designed a special section of their menu to include items inspired by the movie. In addition they have also added a section to their website offering games, memorabilia, recipes, pictures, and video clips. Denny’s is also giving away Hobbit trading cards with the purchase of one of their special menu items.

Denny’s CMO, Frances Allen was quoted by Mashable, concerning their partnering with Warner Brothers:

“We are delighted to partner with Warner Bros. Pictures to bring the captivating spirit of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey to life in our diners nationwide. We were inspired by the imaginative world of Middle?earth and wanted to offer fellow fans an equally inspired food experience to share in the excitement and anticipation for the upcoming debut.”

As The Hobbit say, “If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world.”
