Snapchat Murder: Talon Lowery Accused Of Shooting And Killing Bryan Ramirez, Posting Video Of Slaying On Web

A Snapchat video sent to a number of people reportedly shows the murder of a Georgia teen who was shot in the back with a rifle outside his workplace.

Police in Hall County received information that Talon Lowery, 19, filmed the shooting of Bryan Ramirez, 18, on Snapchat and then disseminated the video to a number of people in the area, according to Fox 5 News.

In a press release, authorities said that on Thursday, November 2, at about 10 p.m. a Ford F-150 truck drove through the parking lot of the Texaco station on Cleveland Highway in Gainesville where Bryan worked, reports WGAU Radio. The slain teen was taking a break with a friend outside the station when the truck’s driver fired a shot from a rifle at Bryan, hitting him in the back. Bryan was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

While investigating the incident, police were informed of the existence of the Snapchat video, reportedly posted by Lowery, that showed Bryan’s murder.

“To put something like this on social media, then to distribute it is unusual,” Hall County Sheriff’s Deputy Stephen Wilbanks told Fox 5 News. A county investigator contacted Wilbanks and his department to let them know his daughter was one of the recipients of the horrific Snapchat video.

Law enforcement went to Lowery’s home and found him there, along with the murder weapon. He was arrested and booked into the Hall County Jail. Fox 5 News reports that he has been charged with Bryan’s murder.

According to Deputy Wilbanks, authorities do not believe that Lowery knew Bryan, however, the investigation is still ongoing, reports Fox 5 News.

Kevin Rail, a recipient of the disturbing Snapchat video, told Fox 5 News that the entire thing is “pretty heartbreaking.” He noted how it is especially terrible knowing someone like Bryan and then “waking up to find out he’s been shot outside of work.” Kevin added, “it’s crazy.”

Another person, Houston Wills, who saw the Snapchat footage also spoke with Fox 5 News.

“It’s awful,” he said. He further questioned how anyone could take someone’s life, then make a recording of it, and ultimately send the video out to others.

The sheriff’s office is asking anyone with information regarding Talon Lowery and the case of Bryan Ramirez to call 770-531-6879.
