According to a Lifesum fitness expert and celebrity trainer to the stars, Joselynne Boschen, Melissa McCarthy’s weight loss was a success because she did something essential during the process. She noted that one must consider the journey as long-term and not a quick fix. So when the funny actress did just that, shedding off the pounds eventually became easy for her.

“When it comes to making incredible changes in appearance like Melissa has, consistency is key,” the fitness expert explained. “The first two weeks are the hardest, but as soon as your cravings are gone and you’ve established a consistent routine, you’re in the clear!”

Melissa McCarthy has not initially shared her diet secrets, but she did credit her amazing weight loss to changing her habits and lifestyle. The Boss star has previously joked that she lost weight by living a boring life.

Although the funny actress was just probably joking at the time, there is definitely some truth in skipping happy hours and late night snacks.

It was later revealed that Melissa McCarthy follows a popular low-carb, high-protein diet, which includes Atkins, Paleo, Zone, and ketogenic diets. She also hired a trainer to help her with her weight loss.
