Matthew McConaughey And Camila Alves Welcome Third Child, A Daughter

Austin, TX – Actor Matthew McConaughey and wife Camila Alves welcomed their third child together in Texas this morning according to multiple sources.

The newborn is the couple’s third, joining 4-year-old Levi and 2-year-old Vida shortly after Christmas and just shy of New Years.

E! News confirmed the birth through a source, but did not report on gender, name, or other baby info like birth weight and exact delivery time. However, TMZ reported that the newborn is a girl, the couple’s second daughter.

McConaughey and Alves have been quickly growing their family in the past few years. With the couple’s first children born in 2008 and 2010, 43-year-old McConaughey and 29-year-old Alves were married just this past June in Austin. Guests camped out overnight before the ceremony in deluxe tents and then partied with the newlyweds late into the evening.

McConaughey has also been keeping up with work as well. While Alves’s was eating for two, McConaughey was slimming down for his role as a heterosexual lothario who contracts HIV/AIDS in the upcoming The Dallas Buyers Club.

This summer, Camila joked to People that she and McConaughey “have gone the complete opposite direction eating-wise, but we’re navigating it.”

McConaughey said that his children reacted to the news of their new sibling well. “When Camila and I told them the news there was a lot of dancing and a lot of singing,” he said. “One of them wants a brother, the other one wants a sister and then they switch the next day.”

McConaughey announced Camila’s pregnancy in July. “Happy birthday America.” He tweeted July 4. “More good news,Camila and I are expecting our 3rd child, God bless, just keep livin.”
