Ben Affleck Was Allegedly Told By Rose McGowan About Rape By Weinstein Immediately Following Incident

New details have been made known in the ongoing scandal surrounding Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein — the man who gave Ben Affleck his start in the world of film — and the multitude of allegations being made against the executive regarding alleged sexual assaults on numerous women.

Such details revolve around a claim made by actress Rose McGowan, who insists that immediately after Weinstein allegedly raped her in 1997, she attended a press conference, during which she tearfully confessed to Affleck and her then-manager, Jill Messick, about the rape.

Breitbart relays details that were stated and almost buried within a lengthy document in the Hollywood Reporter regarding McGowan’s words following the incident which changed her life.

“After their brief business meeting, McGowan says Weinstein told her the room had a hot tub. ‘And then what happened, happened,’ she said. ‘Suffice it to say a door opened and my life changed.'”

McGowan had previously taken to Twitter to accuse Ben Affleck of having knowledge of Weinstein’s advances and of how the exec raped her. However, Affleck became targeted when the Argo star took to Twitter himself to call out Harvey Weinstein only five days following the recent flurry of allegations made against the producer came to light. In his statement, Ben acted surprised by the information.

“I am saddened and angry that a man who I worked with used his position to intimidate, sexually harass and manipulate women over many decades,” Affleck wrote.

To which McGowan frustratingly replied, “‘G**DA**IT! I TOLD HIM TO STOP DOING THAT’ you said that to my face. The press conf I was made to go to after assault. You lie. Ben Affleck f**k off.”

The actress has since claimed that Ben knew that Weinstein raped her. This is added to the alleged comments made by Affleck’s friend Matt Damon, who also reportedly stated that Ben knew about Weinstein’s sexual harassment of Affleck’s then-girlfriend, Gwyneth Paltrow. As the publication notes, Affleck has made no comment regarding the allegations that he knew of Weinstein’s rape of Rose McGowan and of the sexual harassment Paltrow reportedly experienced at the hands of the producer.

Affleck, however, got himself back in the hot seat after he tweeted about his anger regarding Weinstein. One Tree Hill actress Hilarie Burton piped up, accusing the actor of inappropriate groping over a decade back, prior to his marriage to Jennifer Garner. Ben did admit to the incident in 2003 and has since apologized to Burton on social media.

Despite so many attempts to reportedly bury allegations, the truth is making its way to the surface. McGowan has additionally claimed that Weinstein offered the actress $1 million for her secrecy regarding the rape, as the Hollywood Reporter shares, which McGowan declined to accept.

“Rose McGowan says she was offered a significant sum of money in exchange for her silence about Harvey Weinstein, an offer she declined one day before the Oct. 5 New York Times exposé revealed alleged decades of sexual harassment and misconduct at the hands of the now-disgraced Hollywood mogul. The story opened the floodgates, with Weinstein’s accusers now numbering past 60 and including multiple rape claims.”
