Philly radio station fires DJ who aired Beanie Sigel’s Jay-Z dis

Twitter is buzzing this afternoon about the firing of 100.3 The Beat DJ Charlamagne Tha God after rapper Beanie Sigel took a few shots at Hova last week on DJ Charlamagne’s show.

The hashtag #cthagodgotfired is hot on Twitter right now, and DJ Charlamagne’s first tweet on the subject came about two hours ago, with no comment on the situation at first:

I just got fired from 100.3 The Beat in Philly. Salute to Philly I hope you all enjoyed me the past 6 months.

RT @lilduval: to everyone excited bout @cthagod getting fired. it dont matter we on TV wit “hood state of the union” see how GOD work. lmao

#cthagodgotfired for being the glitch in the matrix

#cthagodgotfired cause 100.3 The Beat said they want to move in a different direction. God bless them. Thanks for the past 6 months.

But amidst the replies to well-wishers and a few jokes, he re-tweeted this:

RT @fuzeb: So @cthagod got fired after the hov interview…reminds me of when Puff got Wendy fired for callin him gay

While there is no confirmation that the Sigel interview lead the the DJ’s sacking, Jay-Z did say his piece about Beanie’s comments, to MTV, and he didn’t seem pleased in general:

He has a lot to complain about, not me,” Jay started out in a jovial manner. Then he got a little more serious.

“Well, Beanie Sigel, at the time — and you can look it up if you like, just to be honest — was driving two Bentleys. I don’t know how; it’s impossible to drive two cars at one time. With his momma in the sticks and selling 800,000 records, I don’t know what more you can do for somebody. What people choose to do when they attain of success… At some point you have to look in the mirror, and look at yourself. Beanie Sigel had a record deal, a record label, and a clothing line — and never went platinum, ever. I don’t know in the history of rap has anyone done so much with so little. I don’t even know what more can you do for a person at that point. A record deal, that’s normal. A record label and a clothing line? If that’s not pushing a person, sh–…”

And although not exact confirmation, but DJ Charlamagne’s last tweet seems to also indicate that he was fired for something he said that may not have gone over well:

#cthagod got fired but he didn’t get his tongue cut out nor lose his voice.
