Dwyane Wade Suspended For Groin Kick

Dwyane Wade has been suspended for one game without pay for kicking Ramon Sessions in the groin during the Miami Heat’s 105-92 victory over the Charlotte Bobcats.

Stu Jackson, the Executive Vice President, Basketball Operations, made the announcement today on NBA.com.

Wade was not called for a foul during the game but the NBA ruled that Wade’s groin kick warranted a suspension.

The incident, which occurred with about four minutes left in the fourth quarter, created a minor scuffle between the Bobcats and the Heat.

Wade didn’t comment on the kick but Sessions said after the game that he believed that the Heat player did it on purpose.

Sessions said: “I thought he did it on purpose, and it wasn’t called.”

Wade was carrying the ball across half court when Sessions reached in for a steal. They collided and Wade’s momentum carried him forward into his opponent. Wade’s momentum also carried his leg up and into Sessions groin area.

The NBA, however, decided that the groin kick wasn’t the result of momentum. Instead, it was further evidence that Wade is a dirty player.

Here’s a video of the play. Do you think Dwayne Wade deserved a suspension?
