Nintendo 3DS Filled With Porn Given To 5-Year-Old Boy For Christmas [Video]

A five-year-old boy’s father was shocked to discover that his refurbished Nintendo 3DS still contained some pornography its previous owner left on the device.

Mark Giles hadn’t considered checking the 3DS for anything inappropriate. According to The Consumerist, the father purchased the used device from GameStop. Since the company is supposed to remove all data from refurbished items, Giles didn’t think to give it a once over.

Not surprisingly, he and his family were shocked when they discovered the Nintendo 3DS contained several very inappropriate images. Unfortunately, the offensive pictures were first seen by Giles’ five-year-old son.

The boy’s father explained to KUSA:

“He said that he didn’t take these pictures so I went over to these pictures and I see two people in a bed. I told my dad and I said dad this has porn on it and he got up and went right to the phone. You can’t unsee this he’s five years old maybe when he’s 18 or 20 maybe he won’t know anything about it but he’s not going to forget about this tomorrow.”

The concerned father immediately took a trip to the GameStop location where he purchased the device. In addition to apologizing for the debacle, the store gave the boy a new Nintendo 3DS and a handful of games for his troubles.

The GameStop corporate office had this to say about the incident:

“GameStop is currently researching this situation. We have a rigorous quality control process in place to ensure that existing content is removed from all devices before they are re-sold. Out of millions of transactions each year, ones like this happen very rarely. Our number one priority is to make this right for our customer.”

It’s currently believed the images were put there by the device’s previous owner and not by a GameStop employee.

What would you do if you found porn on your child’s gaming device?
