In explaining his team’s picks, Ford explains:
“These are some of the best apps available in Google Play.”
“Some launched in 2012 while others issued updates that achieved a great combination of utility, beauty and accessibility. Almost all of them are available globally and offer a great user experience on both tablets and phones. From excellent tools to objects of beauty, each of these applications represents the best of Google Play.”
The apps chose for Google’s Top 12 of 2012 include Zappos, Evernote, Pinterest, Grimm’s Snow White, Pocket, Expedia Hotel & Flights, Ancestry, Fancy, Mint.com Personal Finance, SeriesGuide Show Manager, Pixlr Xpress, and Ted.
Google chose not to rank the apps, instead letting the programs stand as equals in a field that includes hundreds of thousands of different and varying Android applications.
Google’s list is fairly subjective, but, upon further investigation, the apps chosen do offer excellent interfaces, and their cross-device compatibility makes them excellent choices for users who want to take advantage of an apps capabilities across multiple devices.
