Piers Morgan: Bible And Constitution Inherently Flawed And Need To be Amended [Video]

Piers Morgan

Piers Morgan has been in the hot seat lately for his views of the Second Amendment and gun control. Now he has set his sights on another staple of American life, The Bible. Morgan said in an interview with Saddleback Church Pastor Rick Warren that the Bible and the Constitution are “inherently flawed” and need to be amended.

The discussion was held on CNN’s Piers Morgan Tonight. During a debate about American society, Piers interjected that, because the Bible does not include a permission for gay marriage, like an amendment to the Constitution repealing the Second Amendment, Morgan thinks the Bible should be updated.

Morgan said to Warren:

“Both the Bible and the Constitution were well intentioned but they are basically, inherently flawed. Hence, the need to amend it. My point to you about gay rights, for example, it’s time for an amendment to the Bible.”

Morgan had been specifically debating the need for a stronger separation of Church and State with Pastor Warren.

Warren immediately disagreed with Morgan’s thoughts on the Bible, saying:

“Uh, no, not a chance. What I believe is flawed is human opinion, because it constantly changes.”

Both men were able to stay civil in the debate and not devolve into character attacks or insults. Both commented on the need to keep these debates civil for the sake of society.

Morgan has been in the media spotlight since his outspoken views on the need for gun control in America after the Newtown School massacre. Morgan has gone as far as to call spokespeople for gun groups stupid and idiots.

Second Amendment supporters have filed a petition to the White House signed by over 75,000 people calling for the CNN host’s deportation back to Britain. This development led to a counter protest in the UK “Stop Piers Morgan from being deported back to the UK from America.”

Truth never changes! Opinion IS EVERCHANGING! The world should be governed by truth, not mans opinion. God gave us his word, Jesus is the word, the truth and the light. That can never change. The word is what we are supposed to live by, eternally. Truth is eternal. God's will is not subject to man's desire. Man's desire is supposed to be subject to God's will (word). If it doesn't fit then it isn't right.

You know what's great about America? That anyone can voice their opinion. Whether you agree with that opinion or not, everyone has the right to have an opinion.

Do you follow the Bible word for word? What do you do about the conflicting parts?

  4. Beverly Zebrowski

To Heather Johnson: There are no conflicting parts in the bible, only in the mind of the reader. Get several versions, study, and it will be revealed to you.

So he goes from gun rights to gay rights? Since when did this pompous Englishman become an expert on the US Constitution AND the Bible? Simply because he does not believe in gun ownership or the truth about homosexuality (a very destructive lifestyle), his opinions carry weight because he works for CNN?

@Heather Johnson – Yes, everybody has a right to their opinion, but the real bigotry and intolerance to differing opinions comes from the left. Pseudo-intellectual Monstrosities such as political correctness, moral relativism, and affirmative action were dreamed up by white, over educated, self-hating liberals. These are same people who want to disarm all law abiding citizens, yet will always find excuses to defend violent criminals. Even of you are not a fan of conservative radio or television, the sheer vitriol and abuse thrown at those of us on the right is shocking. Piers Morgan is just another example of leftist bigotry.

O.K. I will sign to deport him. You don't amend the Bible, the Bible is not fiction, it is truth. The problem is we need Jesus' teachings front and center at all times, they are the basis of American society's morals, period, not hidden, and private like atheists and agnostics clanging rhetoric would have. Freedom of religion pertains to Biblical God and Jesus, not just any religion, period. Atheism is not a religion.

Beverly is correct. You have to pray and ask that understanding is opened unto you. …and you have to read, read, read it, it is the living word, it has relevance in every aspect of life, and eventually you reach a level of understanding what is significant in this world and what is not. How we behave and treat each other is very significant.
