British Woman Walking Again After Two-Year Paralysis Following Sneeze

Chichester, England (AHN) – A British mother of three is finally walking again after being paralyzed for two years. She became paralyzed after a forceful sneeze broke her back.
Two years ago, Victoria Kenny was watching TV when a sneeze caused her to rupture a disc in her spine, trapping her sciatic nerve between two vertebrae and leaving her paralyzed, England’s Daily Mail reported.
She’s able to walk again thanks to a pioneering surgery she underwent early this year. The surgeons fit a lightweight plastic “cage” around the affected section of her spine.
Before this surgery, doctors had tried three others, but none were able to resolve the problem.
Kenny, 53, was forced to quit working at the law firm she’d established 25 years earlier because of the pain, which also left her severely depressed and contemplating suicide.
The cage inserted by Dr. Andrew Quaile will stay in place permanently. Kenny told the Daily Mail that the surgery gave her back her life.
Within a week of the operation, she was walking again and has since returned to work.
