Kim Kardashian Threatens To Quit Instagram Over New Policy Change
The world may soon find itself in a booty photo drought. Kim Kardashian, the most followed person on Instagram, may soon be quitting the service due to a recent policy change.
Rumors started circulating last week that Instagram was going to start selling user’s photos. Well, they weren’t really rumors. Instagram pretty much stated it in the policy change, writing:
“To help us deliver interesting paid or sponsored content or promotions, you agree that a business or other entity may pay us to display your username, likeness, photos (along with any associated metadata), and/or actions you take, in connection with paid or sponsored content or promotions, without any compensation to you.”
The photo sharing service heard the outrage over the policy change and quickly released a statement that it wasn’t going to sell anyone’s photos. Still, Kardashian wasn’t convinced.
The reality star took to Twitter saying that she was going to “carefully review” the new policy before she posted any more photos.
Kim wrote: “I really loved Instagram. I need to review this new policy. I don’t think its fair.”
TMZ reports that the Kardashian sister may move on to a rival company of Instagram doesn’t change it’s policy. Kim is only one person, but she has more than 5 million followers on the photo-sharing site. If Kim leaves, the site could see a lot of people leave with her.
“Kim is telling friends she’s considering leaving unless its new policies are drastically revised, ASAP. She’s thinking about shutting down her Instagram account, going to a rival photo-posting company … and taking all of her followers with her.”
The Business Insider reports that in addition to Kim’s followers, Instagram may also lose Khloe, Kylie, Kendall, and Rob Kardashian who are among Instagram’s top 10 users.
Do you think Facebook and Instagram are afraid of a mass Kardashian family exodus?
