Quentin Tarantino Discusses Comic Book Movies

Quentin Tarantino has revealed that he almost directed a comic book movie in the past after completing his debut movie.

“After Reservoir Dogs, I had been considered doing a Luke Cage, Hero For Hire movie,” discussed Tarantino. “Ed Pressman owned the rights at that time, and we talked about it. I talked to Laurence Fishburne about being Luke Cage, and he really like that idea. Then I ended up writing Pulp Fiction.”

When asked whether he might go on to write a super hero movie, he added, “If I wanted to do something like that, I’d want to create the superhero myself.”

Tarantino has also revealed that a few years ago he got a little obsessed about watching television. “I was for a while, about six years ago. I was watching a lot of the serialised television shows,” he said. ” I had to cut them out because I stopped going to movies because I was always caught up in four different serialised shows and the box set for this one and that one. I had to go, ‘Look, I ain’t about that. I’m about movies. I’d rather go out to the theater.'”

When discussing what he does watch on the small screen though, he remarked, “Hands down, my favorite show is How I Met Your Mother. I’ve been watching that since the very first episode, so that’s the one show that I always keeps watching.”

He then added, ” But I love Newsroom. That writing, every week, is just so exciting.” Tarantino’s Django Unchained will be released on Christmas Day.
