Monday Oct. 26 Most Unproductive Day of the Year in Britain

London, England (AHN) – Today, Monday Oct. 26 marks the most unproductive day of the year in Britain, a survey found. Workers’ morale takes a dive as the sun sets earlier and clocks change.
After surveying 2,000 workers, Promotur, the Canary Island Tourism board, found productivity would drop by 50 percent this week as a result of workers struggling to cope with earlier and earlier dark nights, the Daily Telegraph reported.
Fourteen percent of workers said the slump affected them so much at work their bosses took notice. Another 8 percent confessed to calling in sick because they were so depressed by the idea of heading to work during such short periods of daylight.
As the first day in Britain after the clocks change, some 52 percent of workers said it would be a struggle to keep up with their workload today.
