Parents Warned On Choking Hazard Of “My Baby Soother” Pacifiers

Washington, D.C. (AHN) – Parents are being warned to not let infants use “My Baby Soother” pacifiers because the product could be a choking hazard.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission issued the warning Monday against the pacifiers, which are manufactured by T & L Trading Corp. of Brooklyn, N.Y.
Nipples on the items can separate from the base, the agency said, causing a child to choke.
The agency advised parents to take the pacifiers away from children and throw the product away. Retailers should remove the item from shelves and call the CPSC.
The pacifier has a ring-shaped handle and a blue, pink, red, white or yellow heart-shaped mouth guard with two ventilation holes. The words “My Baby Soother” are printed on the top of the packaging with a picture of an infant in the background.
About 16,000 of the items were sold for about $1 at groceries, delis and discount stores in Bronx, Brooklyn, Broadway and Coney Island areas of New York between August 2007 and July 2009, the CPCS said.
The commission said the warning was issued because T & L Trading had refused to recall the product.
