Sam Donaldson was arrested earlier this month for a DUI.

According to TMZ, the veteran news anchor at ABC and political correspondent at the White House was pulled over in Delaware on December 1 after he drove his car onto the shoulder of the road.

Donaldson, 78, was given a field sobriety test. The gossip site reports that the journalist “bombed” the sobriety test and was arrested for a DUI.

He was taken to a nearby police station and booked for drunk driving. On the bright side, police said that Donaldson was very cooperative through the entire ordeal.

The NY Post reports that Donaldson no longer works full-time at ABC but he is still a frequent contributor to the network.

Donaldson began his broadcasting career in the 1950s. He joined ABC in 1967 and was named the Broadcaster of the Year by the National Press Foundation in 1998. Donaldson, who was ABC’s chief White House correspondent during the 80s, has also won four Emmy awards, three Peabodys, and the Edward R. Murrow award.

Surprisingly, Donaldson isn’t the only news person to get a DUI this year. Fox 5 Anchor Amanda Davis was and NBC 5 Anchor Jane McGarry were also busted for DUIs this year.
