Jamie Foxx Says Electro Will Look Different In ‘Amazing Spider-Man 2’

Jamie Foxx said during a recent interview that Marvel will be updating the look of Electro for The Amazing Spider-Man 2, according to Empire Online.

Although the actor is busy promoting Quentin Tarantino’s violent western Django Unchained, some interviewers have tossed out questions regarding his role in Marc Webb’s upcoming sequel.

When asked what Electro’s costume would look like for the movie — it is traditionally green and yellow — Foxx was quick to reveal that the filmmakers were planning to update the outfit for the new film.

“It won’t be green and yellow. It will be a different color,” the actor told BlackFilm. “[The producers] want something for the future. They want to have it more grounded and not as comic book-y, so it won’t be green and yellow. They want to try new things, like a liquid rubber and things like that, and there are all these bolts and stuff in my arms when they are hanging me upside down.”

He added, “So, it will be some new stuff.”

During his chat with MTV News, Jamie Foxx was quick to give away some details regarding his character’s origins.

“You’ll see that in his whole life, no one is talking to him. People have stolen his ideas at the big company. He’s a nobody,” Foxx said of his character’s history. “At a certain point, Spider-Man bumps into him and says, ‘You’re my guy. You’re my eyes and ears on the street.’ And he says his name — no one has ever said [Max] Dillon’s name.”

With all of this new information coming to light, you’d think the sequel was right around the corner. Unfortunately for those folks looking forward to the new film, Webb’s follow-up won’t see the inside of a darkened theater until 2014.
