iPhone May Go Business-Class

New software’s on the way that could make the iPhone a serious competitor when it comes to business-based use.

Executives at Sybase say they are close to releasing a program that’ll let businesses securely send email to the popular devices, much like the already standard Blackberry and Treo both offer. The remarks were made at Reuters’ Global Technology Summit in New York this morning.

The Sybase execs also revealed plans for new software to go along with Google’s upcoming Android platform for smartphones.
