Mark Wahlberg Discusses ‘Transformers 4,’ ‘Ted 2’

Actor Mark Wahlberg has revealed that production on both Transformers 4 and Ted 2 is scheduled to begin next year, according to Collider.

During his recent interview with the site, the Shooter star said production on Michael Bay’s next installment in the Transformers franchise could begin next summer. Wahlberg also explained that his experience on the set of Pain and Gain influenced his decision to work with the director once again.

“We kind of complemented each other throughout the entire process, what he does and what I do and what we were able to do together, and then after that I was like ‘Dude we gotta work together again,’ and he was like, ‘Well I got a project, you interested?’ ” the actor said.

Wahlberg added that Transformers 4 is likely to begin production this May. The sequel to writer-director Seth MacFarlane’s Ted is slated to start shooting once the actor has satisfied his obligations with Bay’s big-budget sequel.

It looks like 2013 is shaping up to be a very busy year for Mark Wahlberg. In addition to the aforementioned projects currently waiting in the wings, the actor has also signed on for Paramount’s American Desperado. Celebuzz reports the film is based on the book American Desperado: My Life as a Cocaine Cowboy by Jon Roberts.

Wahlberg is also slated to appear in writer-director Peter Berg’s Lone Survivor alongside John Carter star Taylor Kitsch and former Hulk Eric Bana. The movie is presently scheduled to arrive in theaters at some point in 2013.

As if these films weren’t enough to keep the guy busy for quite some time, Internet Movie Database lists Wahlberg as being attached to director Max Landis’ Good Time Gang and 2 Guns with Denzel Washington. Fans of the actor will have plenty of movies to keep them happy for quite some time.
